COVID-19: Speak out on status of presidential villa, PDP charges Buhari

The demand from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for President Buhari to address the nation on the status of the Presidential villa in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic is based on public concerns about health safety issues. This follows reports that President Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Mallam Abba Kyari, had tested positive for the coronavirus disease.

As per the statement released by the party’s spokesperson, Kola Ologbondiyan, the PDP stressed the importance of President Buhari addressing the nation to alleviate public tension surrounding the status of the villa, particularly considering that other officials, like Abba Kyari, had traveled to high-risk countries in the course of their duties. The party emphasized the need for transparency and adherence to health safety measures, urging relevant agencies to adopt stringent measures to isolate and monitor individuals entering the country, as well as those who had been in contact with infected persons.

The PDP also called on Nigerians to remain vigilant and abide by health safety directives, emphasizing the importance of social distancing, self-isolation, personal hygiene, and prompt reporting for medical assistance in case of any symptoms. The party expressed optimism that with a concerted effort by all Nigerians, the nation will overcome the COVID-19 pandemic.
