COVID-19 responsible for mass deaths in Kano – Presidential team

The leader of the Presidential Task Force Committee on COVID-19, Dr Nasiru Sani Gwarzo, has stated that the recent mysterious deaths in Kano state are caused by the novel Coronavirus. He disclosed this information to newsmen on Sunday, May 3rd, mentioning that tests conducted have confirmed COVID-19 as the cause of the mass deaths.

Gwarzo emphasized the seriousness of the situation, stating that the final report will be ready in the next one week or few days, and urged the people of Kano to recognize the gravity of the issue. He also highlighted the support from the private sector and other stakeholders in identifying the problems and stated that the mass deaths in Kano are associated with coronavirus for five solid reasons.

The increasing deaths in the state have raised concerns about COVID-19 cases. In response, President Buhari instructed the Gwarzo-led Presidential Task Force to investigate the cause of the mysterious deaths in Kano and to contain the spread of the virus in the state.
