Court remands two over death of Ondo socialite

The Magistrate Court in Akure, Ondo state capital, has remanded two suspects into prison over the alleged killing of Akure socialite, Sunday Adebayo Oladoyinbo, also known as Say Bayo. The suspects, 29-year-old Adeniyi Adebisi Atinuke and 50-year-old Ade-Ojo Ilesanmi Isaac, were arrested in connection with the death of the socialite, who was found dead in his vehicle in the Ijapo area of Akure.

Oladoyinbo was discovered dead in his car on December 10, 2023, after being reported missing for three days. The two suspects were arraigned before Chief Magistrate Damilola Sekoni on a five-count charge including felony, accessory after the fact, and perversion of justice.

The Chief Magistrate ordered the suspects to be remanded in a correctional facility pending the determination of the bail applications and adjourned the ruling on both applications to January 29, 2024.
