Court adjourns EFCC case against Ali Bello to Feb 5, 6 for continuation of hearing

Following the conclusion of evidence by the second witness of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Edward Bananda, Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court in Abuja has scheduled February 5th and 6th for the continuation of hearing in the charges against Ali Bello and others.

The charge marked FHC/ABJ/CR/550/2022: FRN vs Ali Bello & others has been adjourned to February 5 and 6 to allow Ali Bello’s lawyer to subject the EFCC witness to cross-examination.

During the proceeding, the prosecution, led by Rotimi Oyedepo SAN, continued the Examination-in-chief of Edward Bananda, the 2nd witness, who provided evidence of financial transactions of the Kogi State Government and the Kogi State Government House Administration.

Edward Bananda testified about the inflow and outflow concerning the Government House Account, which involved cash withdrawals and transfers from the account. However, no transfers were made to the defendants and there were also no cash withdrawals by them, as stated by the witness.

With the conclusion of the witness’s evidence in chief, the case has been adjourned to February 5th and 6th, 2024 for the continuation of the hearing, specifically for cross-examination.
