Coronavirus: All those who recently visited  St. Edwards hospital in Lagos advised to self-isolate

The management of St. Edwards hospital in Lagos has advised all individuals who recently visited the facility to self-isolate. This comes after one of its patients tested positive for Coronavirus. The patient, who was admitted on April 11 with cardiac symptoms, tested positive after a call from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control on April 12.

The hospital has directed those who visited between April 11 and April 15 to self-isolate for 14 days, stay at home, and avoid contact with others, including their family. The hospital has also been cooperating with health agencies and has been decontaminated in line with guidelines from the NCDC.

In a clarification on Twitter, the hospital stated that it does not treat COVID-19 patients and that the positive case was sent to an isolation center according to protocol. They emphasized the importance of testing positive before sending a patient to an isolation center, and the need to provide care while waiting for test results.
