Confirmed: Romano announces Chelsea midfielder’s move to new club with a ‘yes’

According to Fabrizio Romano, a noted expert in football transfers, it has been verified that Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher has given his approval to a move to Atletico Madrid for the upcoming season.

Romano’s X account tweeted on Monday morning confirming that the English player has accepted a five-year contract with Atletico Madrid.

“An exclusive revelation: Conor Gallagher has verbally accepted the conditions and has confirmed his move to Atlético Madrid!

“‘Here we go,’ the official announcement is expected to come today after the necessary procedures have been completed, with a contract spanning five years.

“In what would be La Liga’s most expensive signing this summer, Chelsea will receive €40m for the transfer,” Romano reported.

This development follows the news that Gallagher was informed he would serve primarily as a squad player under the management of Enzo Maresca.
