Confirmed: Guardiola announces Manchester City midfielder’s departure on loan

In a recent statement, Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, revealed that Kalvin Phillips has officially made a move to Ipswich Town on a season-long loan.

Phillips opted for the newly-promoted team over other clubs in the Premier League.

As part of the agreement, City will cover a percentage of the wages for the 28-year-old at Ipswich Town.

During a media briefing on Friday, Guardiola mentioned that Phillips is seeking more playing time with this decision.

Guardiola elaborated, “It appears he’s set to join Ipswich on loan. The deal is nearing completion. I believe it’s already finalized.”

“He has chosen to pursue this opportunity. He needs regular game time.”

“We felt he wouldn’t get the playing time he deserves here. Perhaps in the future, he may return,” Guardiola added.
