Concerns raised by Nnamdi Kanu’s former lawyer, Ejiofor over the crisis involving Nigeria’s presidential jets

Expressing his views, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, a former chief advocate for the pro-Biafra campaigner, Nnamdi Kanu, highlighted the recent takeover of Nigeria’s presidential aircraft by a Chinese corporation as a forewarning of an impending catastrophe.

Ejiofor scorned the confiscation of the presidential jets by a Chinese entity as a shameful incident.

The incident in question refers to the seizure of three presidential planes in France by Zhongshan Fucheng Industrial Investment Company during a routine maintenance process.

The takeover ensued following the termination of a contract by the Ogun State government back in 2016.

In his response, Ejiofor cautioned that such occurrences point towards a looming threat to Nigeria’s sovereignty.

Sharing his thoughts on his Facebook platform, he remarked: “It is evident that Nigeria’s sovereign status is at serious risk, coupled with mounting debt worries where little attention is being paid by Nigerians.”

“Regrettably, on August 15, 2024, three presidential jets undergoing repairs in Paris were temporarily impounded as per a court-issued directive – What a global embarrassment!”

“The distressing truth remains that with the Nigerian administration’s consistent pattern of excessive and irresponsible borrowing, the likelihood of waking up to find Nigerian assets and the fate of its citizens subject to foreign rulings is steadily increasing. It is just a question of time,” he further added.
