Enhancing the welfare of players and backroom staff of Sunshine Stars for increased productivity is a priority as assured by the Ondo State government.
Saka Yusuf-Ogunleye, the State Commissioner for Youth Development and Sports, conveyed this commitment to the team during a meeting held on Tuesday.
Addressing the team, Yusuf-Ogunleye emphasized the significance of tackling challenges promptly for achieving desired outcomes.
He advised against complacency in the remaining fixtures of the season to the team.
“Our current situation is a result of various forms of indiscipline, even with the presence of talented players in the team. It is time to put an end to this,” he affirmed.
“Issues within the team will be dealt with, ensuring that insubordination and lack of discipline become history. Additionally, I will be increasing your match bonuses, raising your feeding allowance, and improving other entitlements,” he added.
Sunshine Stars find themselves in a precarious position near the relegation zone.
