Commission reveals 32,369 visitors at National Museum Lagos in 2024

In the first half of 2024, the National Museum in Lagos welcomed a total of 32,369 visitors, as announced on Wednesday.

Speaking to reporters in Lagos, Oloruntosin Olanrewaju, the Head of the Department of Educational Services and Training at the museum, shared this information.

Olanrewaju mentioned that this number marked a significant increase from the 17,442 visitors during the same period in 2023.

He noted that the visitors consisted of foreigners, children, and adults from various age brackets.

“In the first half of the year, we attracted 32,369 visitors to the museum. We aim to exceed this number in the latter part of the year.

“We see an increasing number of students and pupils from different schools coming to enhance their learning. Additionally, individuals visit for research purposes,” he explained.

Olanrewaju encouraged Nigerians, particularly residents of Lagos, to explore the museum’s offerings, which encompass artifacts, antiquities, monoliths, and other culturally and historically significant materials.
