Collaboration Between NOA and OSSIEC to Fight Electoral Malpractices

In preparation for the upcoming local government elections scheduled for February 2025, the Osun State chapter of the National Orientation Agency (NOA) has initiated discussions with the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSSIEC) to jointly address issues of electoral malpractices and violence.

The State Director of NOA, Bola Morgan, expressed the agency’s intention to forge a partnership with OSSIEC during a recent advocacy visit to the office of the OSSIEC Chairman, Hashim Abioye, in Osogbo.

Emphasizing the need to enhance collaboration between the two organizations, Morgan highlighted that raising awareness is a key aspect of NOA’s mandate.

During the meeting, Morgan suggested the reintroduction of organizations like Boy’s Scout and Boy’s Brigade in primary and secondary schools as part of citizen orientation efforts.

Chairman of OSSIEC, Hashim Abioye, commended the NOA team for their visit and extended congratulations to the new Director of the agency on her appointment.

Abioye encouraged NOA to continue being a catalyst for positive change by promoting national values and advocating against social vices, particularly among the youth at the grassroots level. He also shared some of the achievements OSSIEC had accomplished since his inauguration.

He assured the NOA management team of OSSIEC’s commitment to maintaining a close working relationship with the agency.
