Collaboration between Kogi State and Police Trust Fund for Barracks Development

In a bid to address the challenges faced by officers and men of the state police command, Kogi State Governor, Usman Ododo, has announced a partnership with the Nigeria Police Trust Fund. The partnership aims to improve accommodation and logistics for the police force.

During a courtesy visit to the Governor at the Government House in Lokoja, the Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Police Trust Fund, Mohammad Sheidu, was received. Ododo emphasized the state government’s commitment to strengthening its relationship with the police and other security agencies to ensure the security of lives and property within the state.

Ododo highlighted the importance of providing accommodation through the development of barracks and stations, as well as essential logistics like vehicles, to enhance the welfare and operational capabilities of the police in Kogi State.

Extending gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing resourceful young Nigerians to key positions, Ododo pledged continued support from the youth for the president’s administration. He encouraged the Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Police Trust Fund to maximize the opportunity given to him in reshaping the organization for better performance.

Sheidu commended the Governor for impactful policies and programs that have positively impacted the people of Kogi State. He expressed his readiness to facilitate cooperation between the Kogi State government and the Nigeria Police Trust Fund to enhance the well-being and effectiveness of police officers for improved peace and security.

Earlier in the year, the state government inaugurated an office complex for the Police Quick Response Unit in Lokoja to bolster the operational efficiency of the state police command.
