Cleric urges Bauchi to expedite action on fertiliser distribution

The Bauchi State Government has been urged to expedite action on the distribution of subsidised fertilisers to farmers across the state.

This appeal was made by the Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ulama of the Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’a wa Iqamatis Sunnah National Headquarters Jos, Bauchi Local Government chapter, Imam Muhammad Abdullahi during an interview with Arewa PUNCH after a lecture on new farming techniques at the Kandahar Jumu’at Mosque in Bauchi.

Imam Abdullahi further emphasised that, “There is an urgent need for fertilisers’ distribution, as farmers require the product in stock before the need arises.

“Supporting farmers is crucial, especially during this challenging economic time.”

According to Imam Abdullahi, “the continued delay in subsidised fertiliser distribution may render the product less useful to farmers, leading to low yields and significant losses if not applied at the recommended time.”
