Church Accountant Gets 18-year Jail Term for Alleged Theft of N15.5m Tithes and Offerings


Displayed above is the image of Ibrahim Aku, the church accountant of the Church of Brethren in Nigeria. Aku has been handed an 18-year sentence today for reportedly embezzling N15.5 million in funds sourced from donations, offerings, and tithes between the years 2016 and 2018.

 

He was presented before Justice Nathan Musa at the Adamawa State High Court where he entered a guilty plea to charges of forgery and obtaining money under false pretenses.
