Chrisland schools Lagos responds to Mercy Johnson Okojie’s bullying allegation with an ongoing investigation

The authorities of Chrisland School in Lagos state have stated that they are currently investigating an allegation of bullying made against one of its teachers by Nollywood actress, Mercy Johnson-Okojie.

On Friday, October 22, Mercy shared on her Instagram page that her daughter, Purity, had informed her of an alleged bullying incident involving one of her teachers who even expressed dislike towards Mercy directly to her daughter. (Read here).

Her post sparked widespread reactions with many advocating for the actress to seek justice.

In response, the school authorities released a statement confirming the commencement of an investigation and a commitment to making the findings public.

The statement reads in part:

“We are working on examining all available information and investigating what actually took place to establish the truth of each claim and the actual situation. This investigation has been swiftly undertaken by engaging our established processes to communicate with all parties involved, internally and externally.”

“Meanwhile, preserving the rights, dignity, creative abilities, and self-esteem of every child under our care remains firmly embedded in our corporate ethos, and we remain open to receiving constructive feedback from concerned members of the public, particularly our stakeholders.”
