Chinese Firm’s Donation of Medical Kits En-route to Nigeria to Aid in COVID-19 Fight

Departing from China, the medical kits donated by a Chinese firm in Nigeria to support the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic are currently en-route to Nigeria.

Last week, the Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire, announced the procurement of medical equipment by a Chinese firm in Nigeria for Nigeria while mentioning that a special air cargo would be dispatched from Nigeria to China to collect the aids along with medical personnel.

Despite some opposition from Nigerians, expressing concerns based on the origin of the pandemic, the Federal government has accepted the medical kit gifts, and the shipment is currently on its way to Nigeria aboard an Airpeace flight. Additionally, the medical personnel are also expected to arrive in Nigeria today.
