China Creates Device to Detect Porn Viewing in Men, Aiming to Ban Adult Content Consumption

China has unveiled a mind-reading device capable of identifying when men are viewing pornography, with the ultimate goal of prohibiting all adult content consumption.

A report by NYPost revealed that Chinese researchers have obtained an official patent for a device that can “read a man’s mind” and specifically detect when he is watching erotic content. The current prototype can identify brain waves activated during exposure to pornography.

The study involved 15 male college students placed in front of a computer screen displaying porn while wearing the device on their heads. The mind-reading device processes a range of photos and videos, flagging anything deemed suspicious.

Xu Jianjun, the director of the electrical engineering department at Beijing Jiaotong University who conducted the research, stated that the device aims to “detect bad information”. He also claimed an 80% accuracy rate in filtering out additional signals that could trigger brainwaves unrelated to porn content, such as emotions from non-pornographic material.

With pornography being illegal in China, government authorities are intensifying efforts to crack down on its consumption. This includes deploying censorship agencies referred to as “porn examiners” tasked with monitoring the internet for inappropriate content.
