Children, associates celebrate Sanwo-Olu at 59

The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, recently celebrated his birthday with a series of events. He turned 59 on June 25, 2024.

The events began with a thanksgiving service at the Chapel of the Lagos House, Marina, tagged, ‘Celebration of God’s faithfulness’. Some of the guests in attendance were the governor’s wife, Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu; Lagos Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat; Chief of Staff, Tayo Ayinde; and the National Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Dayo Israel.

Others were the Bishop of Lagos Diocese, Anglican Communion, Ifedola Okupevi; Special Adviser to the Governor on Religious Matters (Christian Affairs), Bukola Adeleke; members of the Lagos State Executive Council, special advisers, permanent secretaries, party members, religious leaders, close aides, families, friends, and others.

The governor then received guests, such as the Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Zenith Bank Plc, Adaora Umeoji.

Sanwo-Olu also hosted children from special needs schools. At the event, the students and their teachers sang various thanksgiving songs and showcased their talents to the excitement of the governor, who danced with some of them.

The students were drawn from schools such as Atunda-Olu Special School, Modupe Cole Memorial Child Care and Treatment Home, Maryland Primary and Inclusive School, Wesley School for the Hearing Impaired; Lagos State Special School, Igbobi; St. Joseph Inclusive School, and Olisa Primary School Inclusive Unit.

The popular children dance crew, Dream Catcher Academy, also entertained the birthday boy with their dance moves at the state house.

Aside from hosting guests at the state house, the governor also attended the wedding of popular singer, Davido.
