Chidinma Ojukwu used a fake name to book the apartment where Super TV CEO was murdered, investigation reveals

A recent police report on the alleged murder of Uwaifo Osifo Ataga, the Chief Executive Officer of Super TV, suggests that Chidinma Adaora Ojukwu, a 21-year-old UNILAG student and prime suspect in the case, reserved the short-let apartment in Lekki where the incident took place under the name “Jewel.”

The report also revealed that numerous attempts to contact the phone number used by Ojukwu, registered under the name Jewel, were unsuccessful following Ataga’s discovery in the room on Wednesday, June 16.

The facility’s operator, Mrs. Nkechi Mogbo, reported the incident to the police.

The report states:

“Mogbo reported that around 3pm on June 16, 2021, she received a call from her security guard on Adebowale Oshin Street, Lekki Phase I, informing her about a flat used as a short-let apartment.

She further stated that the security man informed her that a person named Jewel, using a foreign phone number, had rented the apartment and invited Usifo Ataga to the apartment on June 15th. On June 16th, at about 1pm, the cleaner found the door broken when attempting to clean the room. Upon peering inside, the cleaner discovered Ataga lying in a pool of blood. All attempts to reach Jewel to return to the apartment were unsuccessful.”

Chidinma was apprehended at her Yaba residence on June 23 and publicly presented on June 24, where she admitted to stabbing the TV boss multiple times. She confessed to meeting Ataga a few months earlier at a wild party and claimed that they had been seeing each other since then.
