Chibok Community Attacked by Boko Haram, With Many Reportedly Killed

On Tuesday night, February 18th, Boko Haram members attacked Korongilum Community in Chibok Local Government using a convoy of gun trucks and motorcycles, resulting in the killing of numerous residents.

 

Reports indicate that the heavily-armed insurgents arrived at the community around 6pm while villagers were returning from the farm, immediately initiating gunfire and causing casualties and injuries.

 

This assault occurs five years after the sect members abducted 276 girls from the Government Girls Secondary School in Chibok. Presently, 112 of the girls remain in Boko Haram captivity, while others have been released.

 

As of now, the Nigerian Army has not commented on this latest attack.
