It was officially confirmed by Chelsea on Tuesday that they have successfully secured the services of goalkeeper Penders from Genk.
This announcement comes just before Chelsea’s UEFA Europa Conference League second leg play-off against Servette scheduled for Thursday.
Penders is set to officially become a Chelsea player starting next summer.
The talented Belgium U19 international will be spending this season on loan at Genk.
“Mike Penders has inked a deal with Chelsea FC, making the move from KRC Genk. The goalkeeper will be officially welcomed next summer,” read the announcement from Chelsea.
