Chelsea Warned by Premier League about New Players and Spending

The Premier League’s chief executive, Richard Masters, has recently reiterated the importance of following transfer regulations to Chelsea.

Masters emphasized that every club within the league has specific spending limits that they must adhere to.

In response to queries from the media regarding Chelsea’s recruitment of nine new players this summer, Masters addressed the issue.

Among the new arrivals at Chelsea are several promising talents under the age of 21, such as Omari Kellyman (18), Aaron Anselmino (19), Renato Veiga (20), Caleb Wiley (19), Marc Guiu (18), and Estevao Willian (17).

Additionally, Tosin Adarabioyo has joined the team on a free transfer from Fulham, while Dewsbury-Hall has reunited with his former manager, Enzo Maresca.

The goalkeeping department has also been reinforced with the signing of Danish goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen, and a deal worth around £54 million has been finalized for Pedro Neto.

Masters stated, “All clubs are aware of the regulations. By match round four, each squad must be finalized with 25 players, including at least eight homegrown players. There are restrictions on the number of loans, and players under 21 are exempt from the 25-player squad limit.”

“As per my understanding, Chelsea currently have 28 players over 21 listed in their squad, with two weeks remaining in the transfer window,” Masters continued.

“All clubs are well-versed in the financial guidelines and are responsible for managing their squads and finances. The league will enforce regulations if necessary.”
