Reports from The Telegraph suggest that Chelsea is still interested in acquiring Napoli’s striker, Victor Osimhen. However, they are only considering a loan deal for now.
Napoli’s president, Aurelio de Laurentiis, is hoping that potential buyers will meet Osimhen’s €130m (£110.8m) release clause.
Both Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are reluctant to meet this high valuation for the Nigerian forward.
Chelsea had been in talks to sign Samu Omorodion from Atletico Madrid for €40m (£34.5m) but negotiations collapsed over personal terms.
In light of this, Chelsea is now exploring the option of signing Osimhen, but on the condition that Napoli agrees to a temporary loan deal.
However, this could pose a challenge as Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, has already refuted claims that the player might leave Napoli at a discounted price.
