Chelsea Owners Criticized by Petit for Selling Midfielder

Emmanuel Petit, a former Chelsea star, has voiced his disapproval towards the club’s owners for their controversial choice to offload midfielder Conor Gallagher to Atletico Madrid.

Gallagher is on the verge of joining Atletico Madrid after his trip to Spain on Monday.

The English player will soon undergo medical examinations to finalize his transfer to Atletico Madrid in the upcoming summer.

Petit, however, expressed disappointment over Gallagher’s imminent departure from Stamford Bridge.

During a conversation, Petit stated, “There appears to be a constant state of flux at Chelsea.

“At times, it is quite exasperating; it appears that the current ownership hasn’t gleaned any valuable lessons from their past errors.

“I am extremely disheartened by the developments at the club. Over the past two years under this ownership, my concerns have been escalating; there have been numerous regrettable judgments and significant changes.

“The Americans have poured in excess of a billion into the club, yet what has it yielded? Several players have been rewarded with hefty contracts without any substantial accomplishments in the sport.

“How can Gallagher be valued at £30 million when Manuel Ugarte is valued at £60 or £70 million? It is incomprehensible to me. I fail to grasp it. The decision-making processes at the club baffle me.”
