Chelsea considering a surprising move for Cristiano Ronaldo after expressing his desire to leave Manchester United this summer

Reports suggest that Chelsea are deliberating on making a bid for Cristiano Ronaldo, as the Portuguese superstar’s future at Manchester United remains uncertain.

This development comes after the 37-year-old winger shocked United by stating his wish to depart if a suitable offer is made, citing concerns about the club’s slow progress.

Last month, The Athletic revealed that Todd Boehly, the new owner of Chelsea, had a meeting with Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendes, during which a potential move to Stamford Bridge was discussed.

Since then, discussions between Boehly, Mendes, and fellow director Behdad Eghbali have reportedly continued, indicating a serious interest in securing the services of the former Real Madrid striker.

Furthermore, Chelsea’s coach, Tuchel, has expressed admiration for Ronaldo and previously expressed his desire to work with him.

Speaking last year, Tuchel stated, “It is not a secret that any team in the world without Cristiano [Ronaldo] is in some parts of the game a weaker team. He is one of the greatest who has ever played this game.”

Ronaldo, who missed training on July 4 due to family reasons, is expected to hold talks with Erik ten Hag upon his return as he seeks to resolve his future.
