Chelsea Abandon Pursuit of Osimhen

Opting to shift their focus, Chelsea have chosen to end their pursuit of Napoli’s star player Victor Osimhen, turning their attention to Atletico Madrid’s Samu Omorodion.

For several weeks, the Blues had engaged in discussions with Napoli regarding a potential swap deal involving Romelu Lukaku, combined with a significant cash offer. The negotiation process was fraught with complexities and delays, causing anxiety in the Campania region.

Despite the Osimhen saga, Napoli remains keen on acquiring Lukaku to appease their new coach Antonio Conte. However, they must first offload the Nigerian striker before pursuing a new center forward.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Chelsea has made a definitive decision to shift away from Osimhen and concentrate on securing a deal for Omorodion from Atletico Madrid.

Although Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal remain in contention for the Napoli striker, interest from Saudi Arabia also exists. Nevertheless, the 25-year-old is hesitant about this prospect.
