Chartered plane turns back to Dubai due to pregnant woman going into Labor

Turning back from its course, a chartered plane evacuating Nigerians from the United Arab Emirates had to change its direction due to a pregnant woman going into labor.

Reports indicate that both the mother and the child are in stable condition.

Confirming the incident, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, chairman of the Nigerian in Diaspora Commission, stated that the plane, originally scheduled to arrive at 3pm, is now expected to land at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos at 7pm.

About 3000 Nigerians have expressed their desire to return home as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic. Upon their arrival in Lagos later today, they will undergo a 14-day isolation period.
