There have been calls from some Nigerian celebrities for the arrest of journalists and security operatives seen swarming around Funke Akindele and JJC Skillz during their court arraignment on April 6. This comes after the couple was arraigned for violating a lockdown order on public gatherings by hosting a house party.
Earlier reports stated that the couple were fined N100,000 each and sentenced to 14 days of community service, three hours per day, excluding Saturday and Sunday.
Following the emergence of a video showing the swarm of people around Funke Akindele and JJC during their arraignment, several Nigerian celebrities criticized those present for violating social distancing policies and the ban on public gatherings of more than 20 people.
