Brentford, a Premier League club, has expressed their joy in Nigerian player Frank Onyeka’s remarkable achievement at the recently concluded 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Onyeka made history as the first Brentford player to participate in the final of a major tournament, appearing in Nigeria’s final match against hosts, Cote d’Ivoire on Sunday night.
The defensive midfielder played in all seven of the Super Eagles’ games during the competition.
Brentford commemorated this outstanding accomplishment on their official platform, expressing pride in Onyeka’s achievement.
The club’s official X handle posted a short message: “Frank Onyeka – the first Brentford player ever to feature in a major tournament final 🇳🇬. Proud ❤️.”
The player is expected to rejoin the club this week.
