Benue instructors threaten strike over unlawful salary deductions, demotion
The Nigeria Organization of Educators (NUT), Benue State Wing, has given the state administration 48 hours to compensate all the arrears of consolidated improved allowances eliminated from their May and June 2023 salaries, among other demands, or face a state-wide mass demonstration and eventual work stoppage.
These details were included in a statement after the urgent meeting of the State Wing Executive Council of the NUT in Makurdi on Monday.
The statement was signed by the State Chairman, Comrade Terna Akuma, and the State Actively serving Secretary, Comrade Jeremiah Ochonu.
