Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo has earned high praise from Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher for his performances on the pitch.
In the Premier League opener, Fulham suffered a 1-0 defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Having emerged from the Red Devils’ academy, the 19-year-old made his senior debut for the club in January 2023.
Mainoo was also the recipient of the 2022-23 Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year award.
In an interview with Sky Sports, Carragher expressed his admiration for Mainoo and his development as a player.
Highlighting his excitement, Carragher said, “I have been truly impressed by him. Watching him play and observing his progress has been a delight.”
“Last season, there were concerns about United’s midfield and who would partner with Casemiro. Now, it’s Mainoo who requires a suitable partner. I truly believe he is on the path to becoming a superstar.”
