Call to Suspend Your Presidential Ambition Comes from VON DG to Tinubu

Voice of Nigeria (VON) Director General and founding member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Osita Okechukwu, has urged Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the National Leader of the party, to put aside his 2023 presidential ambition.

In a statement released on Sunday, December 19, Okechukwu suggested that the former Governor of Lagos state should instead support a younger candidate.

Highlighting the potential for a young aspirant from the south to unite the region, he emphasized that northerners are hesitant to support the south due to their lack of unity.

The VON DG expressed his opinion:

“If His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, seeks my counsel on whether to contest for the presidency of Nigeria in 2023, I would advise him to leverage his leadership to unify the APC and the South, and consequently the entire country, by endorsing a candidate from the southeast.”
