Call for Prosecution of Corruption Accusations under Buhari from Frank

A plea has been made by Comrade Timi Frank, a former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to expand its investigations to include individuals who held positions under former President Muhammadu Buhari and are facing corruption allegations.

The efforts of the EFCC in pursuing a case against former Kogi governor, Yahaya Bello, were applauded by Frank.

Frank stressed the importance of probing other officials from Buhari’s administration to prevent the perception that the focus on Bello was just a biased witch hunt.

In his statement, Frank expressed, “While we appreciate the EFCC’s actions against Yahaya Bello, we also urge the agency to look into the activities of other former governors, such as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Nyesom Wike, who have been accused of corrupt practices.”

Frank highlighted the lack of arrests of multiple allegedly corrupt public figures who served under ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, despite reports filed against them with the EFCC.

By ensuring that those accused of corruption during Buhari’s tenure are brought to trial, the EFCC would demonstrate to the Nigerian populace that their actions against Bello are not politically driven.
