The Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, has officially commissioned the Forward Operating Base in Ehor, Uhunmwode Local Government Area of the state and handed it over to the military. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance security measures throughout the state.

During the inauguration, Obaseki urged the Nigerian Army to assist in disarming armed groups that have amassed illegal firearms in preparation for the upcoming gubernatorial election on September 21 in Edo State.

Expressing gratitude for the military’s efforts in fortifying the state’s security infrastructure and maintaining peace, the governor appealed for the establishment of an additional Forward Operating Base in Akoko-Edo, Edo North Senatorial District.

He further advocated for the establishment of another base in Edo North to address prevalent security issues in that area, seeking the assistance of the Nigerian Army in making this a reality.
