Cafu believes the 2024 Ballon d’Or should go to a player with ‘attractive numbers’

In his assessment, former Brazil national team captain Cafu has singled out Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior as the most deserving candidate for this year’s Ballon d’Or award.

The ex-AC Milan right-back praised Vinicius’ impressive goal-scoring record from the previous season, labeling it as highly appealing.

Cafu, speaking on the 23-year-old’s consistent performances over recent seasons, shared his thoughts (as reported by Madrid Universal):

“I consider him not just a mere contender but a potential Ballon d’Or recipient.

“For his remarkable contributions in previous campaigns and notably this season, including an impactful showing in the Champions League final and helping Real Madrid secure La Liga by netting numerous goals.

“Vinicius has posted some very impressive numbers, making him a worthy candidate in my opinion.”

Vinicius racked up 24 goals and 11 assists across 39 matches for Real Madrid during the previous season.
