Burn Survivor’s Remarkable Journey after Gas Explosion

Following her survival of a gas explosion, a burn victim has taken the courageous step of sharing photos of her transformative journey to mark her birthday.

Yinka Matthews sustained severe burns on June 8, 2013, during a kitchen gas cylinder explosion while she was cooking.

Her injuries were extensive, and she remained in a coma for 2 days. Upon awakening, she battled suicidal thoughts and pleaded with the doctor for a lethal injection.

Today, she has healed remarkably, with no visible traces of the past burns on her skin.

In a poignant reflection on her experience, she shared images of herself in the hospital shortly after the gas explosion alongside recent photos. She expressed:

I’ve posted many pictures of my burns, but I lacked the courage to share the first picture after the gas explosion! Today, I summon the courage to fully share my testimony. I survived what someone wished for and planned against me. Today I’m stronger, braver, and an inspiration. This picture is evidence that there is a God who still works wonders! As I celebrate another birthday, I express gratitude to my Lord Jesus, who has loved me perfectly despite all my imperfections. Happy Birthday, Queen OLayinka!
