Buhari's government is colluding with Boko Haram to exterminate Christians – CAN reacts to execution of Rev. Lawan Andimi by Boko Haram

The execution of Adamawa State CAN chairman, Rev. Lawan Andimi by Boko Haram has been described as a shame on the Nigerian government according to the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) on Tuesday January 21.

Rev. Samson Ayokunle, CAN’s Chairman, criticized the security architecture of the country questioning the sincerity of the government and security agencies in fighting terrorism. He lamented the killings and raised concerns about the security under the current government.

In a statement by CAN’s Director of Legal and Public Affairs, Evangelist Kwamkur Vondip, it was alleged that the Buhari-led administration is colluding with insurgents to exterminate Christians. The statement also expressed deep sadness and disappointment at the government’s failure to protect Christians and innocent Nigerians.

CAN’s statement further raised questions about the government’s defense of the recent attacks, urging for international intervention to prevent the systematic elimination of Christians in Nigeria.

The Christian group called for action from international bodies and developed countries to come to the aid of the Nigerian church, expressing grave concerns about the safety of Christians under the current government.
