President Buhari expressed his excitement over the significant victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo State on Tuesday, January 14, following the Supreme Court’s declaration of Hope Uzodinma as the winner of the 2019 governorship election.
The Nigerian leader commended the Supreme Court for its courage and perseverance in the decision to restore a well-deserved victory to the APC.
In a statement released by President Buhari’s spokesperson Garba Shehu, he was quoted saying, “The road to justice may be long and tortuous, but it is the best path for anyone aggrieved. Under the new administration, a new journey to build a new Imo with new energy is about to begin. In this outcome, it is the people of Imo State who have emerged victorious.”
President Buhari also urged the new Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, to lead an all-inclusive government that promotes the ideals of the APC and unites the state.
