When the British media caught wind of their past relationship, they purportedly approached him with the intention to pay for exaggerated stories that would cast Meghan in a negative light.
During this week’s Hollywood Raw podcast, Simon Rex unveiled this unsettling proposition.
At the time of their relationship, Meghan was maneuvering her way through the acting industry, securing minor roles in soap operas, while Simon was building his own successful career. He was notably involved in the Scary Movie series and was on the brink of kicking off his journey as rapper Dirt Nasty.
However, earlier in his Hollywood career, Simon had appeared in solo adult film scenes, primarily geared towards gay audiences, as reported by Perez Hilton. It was this aspect of his past that drew the tabloids’ interest, as they sought to tarnish Meghan Markle’s image in the context of her potential royal association.
Simon recounted being approached by various media outlets in 2018, all attempting to extract scandalous details about his time with Meghan. However, he maintained that there was little to divulge, as their relationship was brief and did not progress to a physical level.
Speaking to The Sun, Simon disclosed that they shared a kiss after dinner, but their interaction did not advance to subsequent dates. He humorously attributed this to how his breath, potentially from consuming “garlic noodles,” may have deterred her interest.
Despite his account, Simon asserted that this was insufficient for the tabloids, with one publication – which he opted not to name – making a staggering offer of $70,000 to falsely assert they had engaged in a sexual relationship. This reprehensible proposal aimed to propagate a more scandalous narrative, suggesting that Meghan had been involved with a former adult film performer.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have vocally criticized the harsh treatment she has endured from the media, condemning the publication of unfavorable stories. The couple has resorted to legal action against multiple UK tabloids to address this issue.
