Breakthrough in Kaduna as Police Unravel Kidnapping Syndicate and Apprehend Suspect

An individual known as Abdulrahman, notorious for incidents of kidnapping, has been taken into custody by the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Kaduna State Police Command. The arrest took place in Karshi, where the suspect, a native of Karshi, Abuja, was found with an AK-47 rifle and 27 live rounds of ammunition.

According to a statement released on Wednesday by the Public Relations Officer of the state Police Command, ASP Mansir Hassan, during questioning, the suspect admitted to his involvement in numerous kidnapping cases within Ikara Local Government Area.

Quoting the Commissioner of Police, Audu Dabigi, the police PPRO lauded the officers for their efforts in the arrest, emphasizing how this achievement showcased the command’s dedication to safeguarding lives and properties in the region.

The successful apprehension was hailed as a significant milestone in combatting the kidnapping challenges prevailing in the state in recent times, as mentioned by Hassan.

He further informed that the investigative procedures were in progress, with plans to prosecute the suspect following the completion of preliminary inquiries.

In his statement, the police chief reiterated, “The Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Kaduna State Police Command has made a breakthrough by capturing a notorious kidnapper. The captured individual, known as Abdulrahman ‘M’ from Karshi, Abuja, was seized with an AK-47 rifle and twenty-seven (27) live ammunition rounds in Karshi.

“After confessing his involvement in several kidnappings within Ikara Local Government Area (LGA) of Kaduna State during interrogation, further investigations are ongoing, and the suspect will face prosecution once the initial inquiries are concluded,” he continued conveying the Commissioner of Police’s gratitude towards the commendable work done by the officers, assuring the public of the command’s enduring commitment to safeguard lives and properties across the state.”
