Breaking News: Senator Allegedly Sponsoring #EndBadGovernance Protest Uncovered by Security Agencies

The revelation that a Senator is allegedly sponsoring the #EndBadGovernanceinNigeria protests against the government has been made by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike. According to him, security agents have obtained intelligence on this matter.

During a press briefing that followed a security meeting with heads of security agencies in Abuja on Thursday, the minister made this disclosure.

Despite calls from government officials to disregard the protests, they have commenced in Abuja and various parts of the country as reported by PUNCH Online.

Wike mentioned that the Senator, who will reportedly be summoned for questioning by relevant agencies, was seen in the company of security agents providing food to the protesters, which he deems as a form of sponsorship.

Regarding the protests, Wike reiterated the importance of adhering to the court order restricting the demonstrations to the Moshood Abiola National Stadium. He expressed concern over the violence and fatalities observed in other parts of the country during the initial day of the protest.

The minister pointed out that security agencies have intelligence indicating plans by hoodlums to exploit the protest to incite property damage the following day. He assured that security personnel will prevent such occurrences.

Emphasizing the government’s commitment to upholding the rule of law in a democratic setting, Wike urged protesters to abide by the court’s directive and conduct their demonstrations appropriately at the designated venue.

He warned of potential acts of vandalism leading to casualties if miscreants attempt to disrupt the peace, stating that security forces are prepared to avert such chaos.
