Breaking News: Arrest Made in Kano as Police Thwart Robbery Attempt

In a recent development, the Kano State Police Command has successfully apprehended a notorious armed robber in connection with a robbery attempt. As a result of their swift action, two AK-47 rifles with 47 rounds of live ammunition were seized during the operation.

Furthermore, a substantial sum of four million, nine hundred, and eighty-six thousand naira (N4,986,000.00) was recovered from the suspect.

SP Abdullahi Haruna, the spokesperson for the Kano State Police Command, officially confirmed the arrest through a press release. He stated, “On Monday, around 02:00 am, a resident of Yandadi Village in Kunchi LGA, Kano State, reported a heinous robbery incident where armed assailants broke into his home, assaulted him, and looted a total of Fifteen Million Naira (N15,000,000.00)”.

Despite the ongoing national protests, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Salman Dogo Garba, promptly directed a specialized team of investigators to launch intelligence-led patrols in order to apprehend the suspects and retrieve their weapons.

“At approximately 06:00 am on the same day, the team successfully captured the main suspect, Hassan Iliya, a 35-year-old individual from Alhazawa Village in Musawa LGA, Katsina State, as he attempted to flee on a motorbike.”

During an immediate search, law enforcement officials uncovered a sack containing two AK-47 rifles along with 47 rounds of live ammunition. The investigation into the matter is currently ongoing.

In his statement, the commissioner encouraged the public to uphold patriotism, refrain from actions that may incite violence, and maintain a vigilant stance.
