Reflecting on the tragic death of basketball legend Kobe Bryant, alongside his daughter Gianna and 8 others in a helicopter crash, singer Brandy has come forward to offer her condolences to his family.
Kobe and Brandy struck up a friendship during their youth, with Brandy attending his high school prom when she was younger.
Brandy’s bond with Bryant dates back to the 1990s, when she revealed in an interview that they had gone to prom together.
In a 1996 Entertainment Today interview, Brandy expressed, “He’ll always be my date.”
The 40-year-old singer has recently expressed her sympathy for the Bryant family.
Taking to her Instagram page on Saturday, the ‘Afrodisiac’ singer wrote;
“Never will I understand. My condolences to @vanessabryant, and all families who are in pain during this tragic time. Love #Mamba #Mambacita,” alongside a photo of the late basketball legend and Gianna.
