Borno Hisbah Command Officials Shave Youths’ Hair, Citing Violation of Cultural and Ethical Standards

Borno Hisbah officials shave youths? hair; say it is against morals, ethics and culture of the state

Officials from the Borno State Hisbah Command have enforced the shaving of the hair of several young men in the state.

The Islamic police released a statement over the weekend detailing that the haircuts took place in various areas of Maiduguri, including Baga Road, Gwange district, Keleri, Fori, London, Dala, Madiganeri, Mulai, Shehuri, and Magumeri during the recent Sallah celebration.

According to the spokesperson of the Hisbah Command, Ibrahim Abdulkardir, the hairstyles were deemed to violate the good morals, ethics, and culture of the people of Borno State.
