Bola Tinubu Honors Fathers, Acknowledging their Role in Shaping Nigeria’s Future

During the 2024 Eid-el-Kabir celebration, which coincided with Father’s Day worldwide, President Bola Tinubu took a moment to pay tribute to fathers.

Through a statement from his media aide, Ajuri Ngelale, Tinubu emphasized that fathers have significantly contributed to molding Nigeria’s future through their sacrifices, patience, provision, protection, involvement, and guidance of the young ones towards a noble path.

Reflecting on the history of Father’s Day, which dates back to the Middle Ages and officially recognized in West Virginia, United States, following an event in 1908 to commemorate 362 men who perished in a coal mining explosion, Tinubu underscored the importance of celebrating all fathers – living and deceased – and paternal figures on this designated day.

Highlighting the impact of responsible father figures in society, the President expressed that fathers play a vital role in navigating their children through life’s challenges, instilling essential values that transcend wealth or material possessions.

Tinubu commended all fathers, known and unknown, who tirelessly work day and night to provide for their families, hailing them as genuine heroes.

He called on fathers to uphold their commitment in positively influencing the destinies of the next generation, ensuring a better future for all.

Concluding his message, he extended warm wishes to all Nigerians on Father’s Day.
