Bola Tinubu finally speaks on Amotekun, says it's not a threat to National unity

The long-awaited statement from Bola Tinubu on the Amotekun regional security outfit has finally been released. The National leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has addressed the ongoing debate concerning Amotekun, created by South West governors to confront insecurity in the region. Tinubu dismissed claims that Amotekun poses a threat to national unity, stating that such assertions are baseless and unfounded.

Tinubu emphasized that the creation of Amotekun is aimed at enhancing the safety and security of the residents in the South West states. He criticized the political rhetoric surrounding the issue, pointing out that the discussion has been marred by subjective opinions rather than objective assessments. The statement highlighted the need for a more balanced and constructive approach in handling the disagreements between the Southwest Governors and the Attorney-General regarding Amotekun.

Tinubu also addressed the attempts to provoke a hasty reaction from him, emphasizing his commitment to thoroughly assessing the facts before making a statement. He expressed his dedication to the welfare of the Nigerian people and urged for a more thoughtful and considerate approach to governance and political discourse.
