Bobrisky Speaks Out Against Naira Abuse After Release from Prison

Upon his release from the Kirikiri Correctional Centre, controversial figure Idris Okuneye, famously known as Bobrisky, called on his supporters to adhere to the law and refrain from spraying money at gatherings.

Bobrisky spent six months incarcerated for mistreating the Nigerian currency by throwing it at an event.

Speaking to GoldMyneTV post-release, Bobrisky emphasized, “Respect the rules, follow the law. Avoid cash spraying, unless you want to reside in Kirikiri prison.”

He further stated, “It’s not just about serious crimes, even a seemingly minor act like this can land you behind bars.”

“I appreciate my friends’ unwavering support during this time. I am solely focused on them and not concerned about anyone else.

Following his release, Bobrisky hosted a celebration that was captured in a circulating video.

PUNCH Metro disclosed that Bobrisky was handed a six-month jail sentence on April 12, 2024, for mishandling the naira.

During his court appearance at the Federal High Court, Lagos, Bobrisky pleaded, “Your Honor, I plead for an opportunity to use my influence to educate my followers on currency spraying.

“I commit to creating an educational video on my platform about this issue, and I vow not to repeat my mistake. I deeply regret my actions.”

While in custody, Bobrisky was reportedly treated like any other inmate, according to an anonymous official at the facility.

The source revealed, “Bobrisky openly declared his male identity, and court records are public. Each inmate undergoes examination upon admission.”

“After evaluation, it was confirmed that there was no alteration to his gender or anatomy. He maintained male biological traits.

“Following this, he was assigned a cell and shared living quarters with other inmates. Allotted personal space and belongings similar to a dormitory setting.”
