Bobrisky, who is known for his transvestite identity as Idris Okuneye, has recently shared insights into his journey towards becoming a transgender individual.
In a recent interview with the eccentric musician Charly Boy, the controversial figure explained that his transition began as a marketing tactic while he was selling unisex clothing during his university days at the University of Lagos.
Reflecting on his transformation, Bobrisky mentioned that he never anticipated that his initial experimentation with crossdressing would ultimately lead him to identifying as transgender.
“Around nine years ago, I was a student of Accounting at the University of Lagos and ran a side business selling unisex clothing. I started trying on female clothing as a way to attract customers, and I found myself enjoying the experience,” he shared.
“As more women began buying from my store, I delved into female hairstyles, makeup, and the positive feedback on my feminine appearance encouraged me to continue crossdressing, which eventually paved the way for my persona as Bobrisky,” he further explained.
Although initially met with resistance from his parents, Bobrisky revealed that they eventually came to accept and support his decision to embrace his true self.
