Bill Cosby Proclaims Innocence Regarding Non-Consensual Sexual Contact and Drugging Women After Release from Prison

Following his release from prison, Bill Cosby has released another statement.

The 83-year-old comedian took to his Twitter account to refute allegations of engaging in “non-consensual” sexual activity and drugging women. He accused the media of distorting his words.

These statements come in the wake of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court’s decision to overturn his sexual assault conviction, resulting in his release after serving less than three years of his sentence. The court also ruled that he cannot be retried for the same offense.

The statement began, “In response to the rhetoric being perpetuated by the media, Bill Cosby has never admitted in his deposition testimony or elsewhere to engaging in non-consensual sexual contact or drugging anyone. He has consistently denied spiking drinks, despite what the media may suggest.”

The statement continued, “Mainstream media has irresponsibly and inexcusably misinterpreted Bill Cosby’s deposition testimony. This should serve as a stark reminder of the repercussions that accompany deceiving the public to serve an agenda.”

Since the allegations stemming from an incident in 2004 involving a Temple University employee, Cosby has vehemently professed his innocence. He was initially charged in late 2015, just before the 12-year statute of limitations expired, following the emergence of damning evidence from a lawsuit against him.

In 2018, Cosby was found guilty of drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand, a Temple University employee, at his suburban Pennsylvania residence in 2004.

The former “Cosby Show” star served over two years of a three to 10-year sentence at a state prison near Philadelphia.
