Benue state governor, Samuel Ortom, recounts how herdsmen shot at him on his farm last week

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state has revealed a recent experience where he was attacked by suspected herdsmen while on his farm along Makurdi-Naka road in the state capital. He recounted the incident during an interview with newsmen in Makurdi, stating that armed herdsmen fired at him and damaged the vehicle of the Livestock Guards who were present. Ortom expressed his determination not to be intimidated and renewed his call for the arrest and prosecution of Miyetti Allah leaders for their alleged role in instigating violence against farmers in Benue state. The state has seen a high number of attacks between farmers and herdsmen.
